New Tricks

Well it’s safe to say that Spring has well and truly sprung and as well as the welcome arrival of some lovely warm weather  it is also the perfect time to do a little spring cleaning and start afresh.

This includes your marketing activity and this is the ideal time to take a look at some new ideas and and try something different.  So in this month’s edition we thought we would introduce you to the benefits of Facebook Advertising for your business.

And if your initial knee jerk reaction is to say that Facebook advertising just isn’t for you, then think again, we would strongly encourage you to take five minutes of your time to read our article on the subject. Not only is it cheaper than normal advertising, it is also much more targeted and unlike traditional advertising you can see instantly if it is working.

Here’s to a busy and prosperous Spring for everyone.

Yours, Fiona, Janice and Fiona

Facebook advertising really works

In the past year promoting your business on Facebook has changed. You can still start a business page and communicate with customers and potential customers without taking advertising but it is becoming increasingly difficult to increase your 'likes' on your page or ensure that you are seen by as many potential customers as possible without taking advertising.
Why you should consider Facebook adverts
That is the bad news. Like many people, we were sceptical when we heard of these changes but the good news is that Facebook advertising really does work. Listed below are three compelling reasons why you should try Facebook Advertising:

1. IT IS CHEAPER THAN YOU THINK - Facebook advertising can cost as little as just a few pounds a day. You can run your advert for a day, a week or longer and Facebook allows you to control the budget so you decide how much you can afford and you will only be committed to that amount.

2. IT IS TARGETED – Henry Ford famously said that he knew that part of his marketing budget worked but he just wasn’t sure what part. And admittedly traditional advertising has been like that, it is really hard to work out if your advert is increasing your business. You know the readership of a paper but you don’t actually know at the end of the day that the people you want to are seeing your advert.

Facebook advertising allows you to target your customers or allows you to target a new customer grouping as it gives you classifications such as age, geography and specific interests and behaviours when you set your advert profile. So you can really target the people you want to on Facebook and not bother those who you know will not buy your product.

3. INSTANT RESULTS – Facebook advertising is measurable. Straight away you can see if your advert is getting attention as you will see the 'likes' on your page increasing and can see the number of views of your advert. You can also see in the insights section of Facebook if the new 'likes' match the target customer you have set. And if you give a specific offer on Facebook you can also measure the results of people taking up the offer. For example one client who carried out an offer over a 2 week period knew that 200 additional customers came into the business and took up the offer as a result of the Facebook advertising.

Facebook advertising is a cost effective, targeted and fully measurable way to market your business and if you are looking to try something new this spring we would certainly recommend it. Bright Light Marketing can run a Facebook Advertising Campaign for you from as little as &5 a day.

But please don’t just take our word for it! The following quote shows the real life experience of one of our clients who has successfully used Facebook advertising to very good effect in his business.

“Recently Bright Light Marketing convinced us that we should try social media advertising as well as our other marketing activity. We decided reluctantly to try this out on Facebook. They showed us how this can be targeted to the specific group and geographical area you want to reach and also – the cost is very competitive.

We have now tried two campaigns. Not only did our sales increase for the products advertised, but we can also directly measure actions taken by advert readers, such as increased number of likes, direct bookings through Facebook, direct messages and further enquiries through Facebook. So, again I have to say Bright Light Marketing was right”.
